Rob Reiner, glumac, redatelj i producent koji je oblikovao nekoliko ključnih poglavlja američke pop-kulture od televizijskog hit-serijala All in the Family, do filmskih klasika kao što su This Is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally…, Misery, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride i A Few Good Men – preminuo je 14. prosinca 2025. u svojem domu u brentwoodskom kvartu Los Angelesa. Vijest o tragičnom pronalasku dvoje mrtvih u kući koju je posjedovao ubrzo su prenijela glavna američka i svjetska medijska izdanja, dok je policijska istraga još u tijeku u trenutku prvih izvještaja. Ipak, People magazin navodi kako se sumnja u ubojstvo od strane njihova sina Nicka Reinera.

Rođen 6. ožujka 1947. u Bronxu, New York, kao sin legendarnog komičara Carla Reinera i Estelle Reiner, Rob Reiner je javnosti postao poznat kao Michael ‘Meathead’ Stivic u kultnoj seriji All in the Family (1971–1979). Uloga mu je donijela vidljivost i nagrade, istovremeno ga instalirala u središte diskusija o društvenim i političkim temama koje je serija prožimala. Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found dead inside their home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles on December 14, 2025. According to sources, their bodies were discovered by their daughter. Reiner was 78 years old. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical aid call at the residence at approximately 3:38 p.m. Authorities later confirmed that both had sustained fatal stab wounds.
The Los Angeles Police Department opened a homicide investigation, with its Robbery-Homicide Division leading the inquiry. The official cause and manner of death were pending determination by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office.

• Nick Reiner is “responsible” for the deaths of his parents, legendary Hollywood director Rob Reiner and producer Michele Singer Reiner, Los Angeles police said. The couple’s daughter discovered them in their Brentwood home yesterday, according to a source.

• The 32-year-old son was seen having an argument with his father at a holiday party Saturday at Conan O’Brien’s home, according to a source familiar with the incident. He was booked on suspicion of murder and is currently being held without bail.
